Room Parent Central

Welcome to Room Parent Central - your go-to hub for everything you need to thrive in your role as a Room Parent!

Here, you'll find helpful resources, tips, and guidance to make your experience fun, organized, and rewarding.

What is a Room Parent?

A Room Parent serves as the key liaison between teachers and class families. Some classes may have Co-Room Parents or a small committee to share responsibilities. You don’t have to do it all - invite fellow parents to help organize and plan. The more families you involve, the stronger and more connected your classroom community becomes.

What are the main duties?

  • Communicate with parents about classroom events, donations, and volunteer opportunities
  • Organize class parties (two per year, usually 1 winter and 1 summer/end-of-year)
  • Plan teacher birthday/appreciation gifts

What are the requirements?

  • Be a parent/guardian of a student in class
  • Be a PTA member (you can purchase your $15 membership here)
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to volunteer some time throughout the year
  • A positive attitude with a desire to help your child's classroom
